What is GIZA™ Software?

GIZA™ Software is a structural steel connection design application that improves the productivity of Engineers and Detailers by performing connection design and producing calculations automatically and is fully integrated with Tekla Structures.

GIZA™ Application Software allows the user to create their own connection design calculations in GIZA™ or with direct interface to Tekla Structures. This ensures the automatic retrieval of data and seamless transfer of information between GIZA™ Application Software and Tekla Structures. GIZA™ Application Software uploads the design information directly to Tekla Structures which automatically remodels the joint to reflect the connection design results.

GIZA™ Application Software also allows engineers to review connections in a model. Users can view and print a complete set of calculations for any joint that GIZA™ Application Software supports.

How GIZA™ Application Software Works

  • Users can create a new connection, load a previously saved connection, Get a connection from Tekla Structures and Tekla Structural Designer (TSD)
  • When creating a new connection, the user must input the job information into the system or transfer the job information from Tekla.
  • Users can load multiple connections at one time from a saved job or directly from Tekla.
  • Once the connection is loaded, GIZA™ Application Software performs several checks to determine if the connection will fail.
  • If the connection does not pass the checks, the user can redesign the connection in GIZA™ Application Software. These design values are things like bolt and weld sizes, Plate dimensions, etc.
  • When the connection passes all checks, the user can then apply the Design back into the Tekla Model. This will change how the model in Tekla looks in real time.
  • The connection capacity can then be applied to the Tekla model.
  • Reports can then be generated containing all of the calculations, formulas, and limit states. These reports can be saved to your computer or printed.
  • At any point in time, a user can save a connection for future design and import it into Tekla at a later date.
